What are the document required for import/export?

Export

  • Licensed Customs Broker for goods exceeding US$5000.00
  • Customs Declaration
  • Invoice (s) for the item (s)
  • Bill of Lading/Airway Bill
  • Detailed Packing List of all items being imported

Import

  • Shipping documents such as a Bill of Lading or Airway Bill.
  • An authentic invoice from the supplier.
  • Import permits or licenses, where applicable.
  • A Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC)
  • Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) and a copy of the General Consumption Tax (GCT) Certificate.
  • An Original Certificate of Origin, if the goods are being imported from a country with which Jamaica has a Trade Agreement, and for which preferential duty treatment is being claimed.

  • Currency base or counterfeit currency of any country.
  • All publications of T. Lawrence Scott and the Chicago Institute in the United States relate to divination, magic, ritual or supernatural arts.
