What are the duty free concessions at Australian Customs?

  • Owned and used by you abroad for 12 months or more imported temporarily (a security may be required by the department).
  • If you’re 18 or over, you can bring AUD900 worth of general goods into Australia duty-free.
  • If you are under 18, the limit is AUD450.
  • If you are a group member, the limit is AUD450.
  • If you are aged 18 or over, you can bring up to 2.25 liters of alcohol into Australia duty free.
  • General merchandise includes gifts, souvenirs, cameras, electronics, leather goods, perfumes, jewelry, watches, and sports equipment.
  • A family of two adults and two children traveling with a family will receive a free allowance of AUD2700.
