Requirements to import pet animals
To import pet animals in to Abu Dhabi, one should obtain import permit from the Ministry of Environment and Water in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Requirements of obtaining import permit include:
1. Veterinarian Health Certificate issued by the exporting country.
2. Vaccination Certificate.
3. Age of pet (minimum 4 months old)
4. Permit fees (AED 200)
Issuance of Veterinary Health Certificate for Exporting or Re-Exporting Live Animals
Documents required to get the Veterinary Health Certificate in Abu Dhabi, UAE
- A copy of exporter’s passport (personal export)
- A certificate of origin from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry except in case of pet animals (Cats and dogs) and falcons unless it is required by the importing country
- A copy of import permit/approval of the country of import (excluding pets)
- Any documents/reports of examinations, which are requested by the country of import
Service Fees for the issuance of Veterinary Health Certificate:
400 AED fee for request to issue agricultural or veterinary health certificate.
